There are plenty of fireworks options around Austin over the Independence Day holiday. Here are the big two Austin 4th of July Fireworks shows.
Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks – CANCELLED
This is always Austin’s biggest fireworks show. Spend this Independence Day with 100,000 of your closest friends! Central Texans will hurry to claim their grassy spot with the Austin Symphony Orchestra this July 4th for the largest Independence Day Celebration in the state. Tens of thousands of families will be decked out in red, white, and blue and heading down to Vic Mathias Shores (formerly Auditorium Shores) this July 4th for an amazing event complete with a fireworks display over the city skyline backed by symphonic patriotic classics. The H-E-B Austin Symphony 41st Annual July 4th Concert and Fireworks is planned, produced, and performed entirely by the Austin Symphony, with the help of its generous sponsors.
The ASO will perform at 8:30 p.m., followed by “mile-high” fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Lake Travis Fireworks on Starnes Island
Starnes Island will once again be host to the biggest firework show on Lake Travis. Starnes Island, just offshore from VIP Marina and Beachside Billys’s, has been host to great fireworks on the lake for years. This year’s show is sponsored by Beachside Billy’s. Here is our video flying out over the 2015 show.
This year’s show starts just at dark on JULY 3RD and best observation is: 1) by boat (there will be over 1000 boats in the water that evening surrounding the island), 2) from one of the many hilltops surrounding the lake in the Volente area or 3) get front row seats at Beachside Billy’s own Independence Day celebration event.
