Artist Reception for Sarah Bork’s “Girls Gotta Eat”

You don’t want to miss the artist reception for Sarah Bork’s “Girls Gotta Eat” at the Dougherty Arts Center on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 6:30-9pm. Celebrate Bork’s cinematic portraits and in-depth interviews with a night of drag performances, free food, and great company! This event is free and open to the public.

“Girls Gotta Eat” is a series of vibrant cinematic portraits of drag performers grocery shopping that playfully invites viewers to explore “how other is us”. Through Sarah Bork’s lens, the grocery store becomes a kaleidoscopic playground of comfort and self-care. These character portraits are paired with handwritten grocery lists and extensive interviews, exploring a nuanced spectrum of identity and experience beyond the traditional gender binary.
