Six-foot-eight, he stands on the ground, therefore the moniker Big for Joe Goynes (pronounced go-wines). Together with his band, Bigger in Texas, they offer traditional classic Honky Tonk, Texas Country & Swing, so the dancers can two-step, jitterbug, or simply waltz in 3/4 time. With a mix of old favorites and new originals, the four-piece knows how to entertain and will keep these boots scootin’ from influences as wide as Haggard & Jones to the Rolling Stones, or Bob Wills and Jimmie Rodgers to Creedence Clearwater Revival.
A fun time will be had, the band features the traditional and tasteful lead guitar of Jerry Don Motley, who has played with Ray Price, over a rhythmic bottom served by Lee Parker on bass and Sherman Lindsay on drums.
