Breck’s Open Blues Jam – Tuesday’s Just As Bad

Giddy Ups has always catered to the blues either with the legendary 1st Friday of every month with Robert Johnson’s Soul, Kathy Murray & The Kilowatts last Friday of the month and countless other bands (Tottsie & The Flames, The Austones or Will Knack et al) gracing the stage.
For over 13 years, Blues Aficionados either as musicians or as listeners venture out to the weekly “Tuesday’s Just As Bad” Blues Jam in South Austin. Every Tuesday, Breck English (aka Leghound) known in Austin musicians’ circles as @BreckMusicJams gets together with the Blues-Bank Robbers (BBR) to invite y’all to come down, sit in, and jam along.
The BBRs will bring their full backline (drs, 1 b amp, 2 g amps, B3, or other keys), so you either can sit in and jam along or use their backline as a full band. Bring your own guitars though. Sign-Up starts around 7:45 pm and music at 8:15 pm. This jam is visited by many professional musicians on their day off, so come and watch and you may learn something.
If you are underage (-21), you can join “Tuesday’s As Bad” as long as a parent is with you. Due to TABC regulations, as we are a full liquor bar, you have to be at your parents’ table at all times except when playing your songs on stage. We actually encourage young people to join the Blues Jam, to lose their stage fright and gain some insights from the stage.
