I write and record psychedelic folk-rock music. I have a deep love for the psychedelic music of the 1960s and a love for the folk and rock n roll music that preceded and followed this era of music. I have tried to blend these influences with my Texan country music roots and I think the resulting music is something musically interesting and exciting. I have heard my music described as “desert psychedelia” and I think this is a pretty fitting description. I love the textures, musicianship and storytelling of older country music a la Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Chet Atkins, Waylon Jennings and Townes Van Zandt and I love the studio wizardry and psychedelic head-music of groups like the Beatles, Mild High Club, Grizzly Bear, etc. This is just a small snapshot of some of my musical influences; I try to pull inspiration from any good song that I hear, no matter the genre or artist.
