High Noon Talk: Tonkawa Texts

Event Details

Starts: Nov 10, 2020
Ends: Nov 10, 2020
6:00 am
Where: Bullock Texas State History Museum

Although tribal traditions survive among the Tonkawa people, the Tonkawa language has been extinct for more than 75 years. Much of what is known about Tonkawa--an "isolate" language, related to no others--comes to us through the stories collected and translated in Tonkawa Texts.
Join author Dr. Thomas Wier for a virtual talk on the language it preserves and the stories it tells!
This program is FREE to the public.
