Healing and Futures Thinking: Facing the Past to Co-Create Our Future

We hope that you can join us with:
KAZI's DJ Kenneth Thompson Sr. (KT) and DJ Kimberly Holiday (#LadyJoy); Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette, Huston-Tillotson University; Harrison Eppright, Visit Austin; Jennine "Doc" Krueger, Huston-Tillotson University; Kendra Jackson Freeman, Metropolitan Planning Council (Chicago); Zai Sadler, Artist; and Ilana Lipsett, Institute for the Future.

We'll start this conversation discussing Austin's past and the decisions made that led us to become one of the most racially and economically segregated large cities in the country. Understanding these truths, we will collectively imagine "100 Ways Anything Can Be Different in the Future," which is designed to improve our ability to anticipate hard-to-predict futures. With those new ideas in mind, we'll talk about balancing the trade-offs that come with any large project, and how to approach co-creation in a way that honors differing priorities.
