Public Tour: Epic Tales from Ancient India
Encounter dangerous beasts, cunning adversaries, and assorted demons – join dutiful heroes, loyal friends and strong women in Epic Tales from Ancient India: Paintings from the San Diego Museum of Art. This exhibition provides a compelling introduction to classic Indian and Persian texts through dynamic images representing the highest achievement of court painting from several regions of the Indian sub-continent from the 16th to 19th centuries.
Included with museum admission; Free for members and UT students, faculty, and staff.
The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
ATTENTION: Visitor Parking Notice
Due to works being carried out at the intersection of Brazos Garage and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from 6am, Saturday 12th August, we advise seeking alternative parking. If you are able to park in the Brazos Garage, bring your ticket with you to the museum so it can be validated for $4.
Alternative Parking options:
-The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, located across the street from the Blanton, has an underground parking garage that charges $8 per vehicle for all-day parking.
-The Trinity Garage is three blocks from the museum on the corner of MLK and Trinity and is the closest UT Garage to the museum if the Brazos Garage is full.
-Metered street parking is also available near the Blanton.
-Public Transit: The Blanton is convenient to a number of Cap Metro bus lines. The closest stops are:
