  1. This place doesn’t take reservations. I called, day of our anniversary and asked him if he could possibly save us a VIP spot since we’re bringing our 2 and 4 year old. Not only did he happily accommodate but the kids loved sitting by the fireplace and the complementary “annIversary ice cream desert”. Our waiter, Alec was also awesome! The surrounding exterior lights and nice parking lot valet was all superb!

  2. This place is always been an interesting venue I love the building and I love the views and now that they have a new executive chef running the operation wow amazing great food great service you can tell that the staff is excited and cares about what’s going on and the food again wow give this place a try if you haven’t recently the new shift in the new team really knocking it out of the ballpark ignore that low rating that’s from the previous team who really didn’t care and wasn’t paying attention. The new executive chef really has things turning around to go on the right way I had a business lunch thereAnd it was amazing oysters on the half shell Mike ordered the alligator bites and guess what they were awesome too and then we had a really really nice grits and shrimp dish, wine and beer were lovely and the servers were just adorable and so helpful

  3. I walk in Abel’s and order a breakfast shot immediately! Maple whiskey, OJ and bacon! The best shot to begin your morning! I ordered the fish tacos and killed the whole plate. Our server Tyler was perfect and very helpful with all our request! I will be back ASAP!

  4. Top notch views, excellent food and great customer service!! The seared salmon was awesome, by the way!! The outside deck is super cool or even inside in front of one of the big screens is nice!! This was my first visit and I will be back!!

  5. Gorgeous views and decent food! We had a plethora of party type food and it wasn’t impressive if anything but it’s tasty and all. A lot of the foods were underseasoned which was surprising but other than that, staff was nice and the venue was great.

  6. Always a good experience here! First time having their brunch, while I think they could have more options …still great food. The Bloody Mary and mimosa specials on Sundays are great! Diverse menu is a plus! If you get a chance to sit on the patio I highly recommend to capture the beautiful view. Shot out to Kay Lee for being a great bartender/server. Always knew when to check on us. 5 stars to her customer service! Cheers!

  7. I have nothing negative whatsoever to say about this restaurant. We came here for lunch after taking care of some business in Austin and it was really a great experience from start to finish. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our patio table and the weather was perfect. we order the trio and seriously some of the best guacamole I’ve ever tasted as well as some very good salsa and queso. The chips were thick and house-made and perfectly seasoned. My friend loved her fried shrimp basket and my burger was delicious, with the house made chips perfectly crispy and flavorful. Our server was so laid back and chill, he made the entire experience perfection. I would most definitely come here again my next visit down south.

  8. Drinks, oysters, alligator, everything was delicious and the view on the lake was even better!! Such a good hang out place with friends! They have boat slips if you have a boat you can drive right up!

  9. Nice view and good drinks! I went in feeling my all tired after work today, but came out very refreshed! The upstairs has much better view with its own bar(was there for corporate event, not sure whether this space is normally open tho). We all had quality conversation due to the open view.

  10. The food, wait staff, and atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting. We had a late lunch with our parents and enjoyed our afternoon. From the fish and chips, to the grilled shrimp tacos, and the philly to the salmon all 4 meals were delicious.

    We will defiantly be back!

  11. Had a great lunch here today with my wife & dog. Food was delicious and dog friendly. Our server, Alec was very friendly as well. Had mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and fish and chips for lunch. All very good. Great view of the lake as well.

  12. Great service and very dog friendly. Loved having dinner with a view. Their chili was pretty good, and the queso was AWESOME. The Texas tea mason jars are LARGE FYI

  13. This review is for the holiday season when Mozart’s is doing their Christmas light display next door, so there is a limited menu. The service was sub-par, but they were slammed and it did improve over the course of the meal.
Their one page menu consisted of just main courses with included sides- there were about 10 to choose from. I split an order of nachos and an order of fish tacos with my wife. The nachos had a ton of melted shredded cheese and cubed fajita chicken and I was very impressed. The chicken was juicy and flavorful unlike some fajita spots and every single chip was covered in cheese. Wow! The added jalapeños, sour cream, and spicy pico de Gallo rounded it all out and were included! The fish tacos are a must-order because the fish had a great flavor and was complemented by a delicious fruity slaw and chipotle sauce that I couldn’t get enough of. The tacos included steak fries that were the best part of the meal. I’ll go back and try to get an extra order of those babies!

Also, this place is worth checking out just for beers. They offer about 30 drafts and the sunset views on the lake are incredible!

  14. Cold beer, lots of tvs, good food ( the jalapeño wrapped with bacon) was off the chain (good). Service was ok. The best part of the it was the view over the water. They have a lot of cool mixed drinks, tons of beers on tap! Found this place while driving around kinda lost its now set as favorite in my gps!
If the service was a little better then they would have received a 5 star!

  15. Love that you are able to sit right on the water! Great beer and drink selection. The food is decent, but you definitely go more for the environment. My boyfriend had the chicken wrap with verrrry little chicken and all lettuce. I had the salmon salad, and it was nice and light. Would order it again.

  16. We initially wanted to eat at the Hula Hut. The wait was 40 minutes mid afternoon. We decided to go next-door to Ables. The atmosphere was great. The view was just as great. And the manager was awesome. The burger was delicious. And enough to share. Homemade buns with steak fries
