Daruma Ramen specializes in whole chicken broth ramen made with eggless tapioca-based ramen noodles.

All of our stock and bases are freshly made every day from scratch. Whole chicken broth has many great health benefits such as lower calories, lower cholesterol, and high in vitamins. It allows us to make our ramen with a light and delicate flavor that you can enjoy until the very last sip of soup.

Our menu is very simple. We offer just four varieties of ramen: Shio, Shoyu, Miso, and Vegetable (which is vegan). All four ramens have a very unique personality so you can choose your ramen based on your diet or your craving.

  1. This place is legit. #1 is the way to go. It’s salty and satisfying. They have plenty of add-one to customize your ramen to your liking.
Since the place is small there’s usually a wait but the food comes out quickly. It’s convenient after a long day downtown or those cold nights.
They now have sake in a box – yes, like the kind you used when you were a kid.
    Party on.

  2. Had the miso base chicken ramen (#3 on menu) and it was amazing!!! Very filling and rich broth. I loved this place much more than Tatsuya… also very affordable for only 10$ a bowl. The server even overheard us discussing that the three in our party were lacking our soft boiled egg and our server immediately got us some eggs!! Awesome!

  3. This is an amazing place if you are looking for a variety of noodle soups. I highly recommend sitting by the chefs bar where you can watch the chefs preparing food. Especially, since I was there alone, I thoroughly enjoyed the bar seating.
It was packed during the lunch time and I had to wait for 20 minutes. But, the food was worth the wait. I ordered the shoyu ramen and it is very delicious. The smell of the food is refreshing and I strongly recommend adding chili to it if you prefer spicy food. Food is tastier when it is warm and don’t hesitate to slurp to have the best experience!

  4. I’ve only tried “Hiyashi-Chuka”, a chilled noodle without the soup, but it was awesome. Noodle had a very chewy texture (not over boiled). You can enjoy this like a noodle salad. On a sizzling summer day, it would be a perfect choice when you want something healthy and light but noodle!!! I’ve also enjoyed sitting at the counter seat being able to see the busy ramen master doing all kinds of things. Shop is very small, and tight seating everywhere, but that’s the genuine atmosphere of ramen shop in Japan. I loved this place!

  6. Came in from out of town and found this place on Yelp. It didn’t disappoint! Space is small, but atmosphere was so cute and cozy. I got the spicy shoyu ramen and uber ice cream after.

Everyone was really nice and really attentive. I think this is a must-go place in Austin.

  7. Warning: This place is popping! As soon as it opens, it fills up quickly so come early if you want to get a seat. Otherwise, write your name on the clipboard so you know who is to be seated next. If you get there early, you’ll probably get your food early, but I came around noon (opens at 11:30) and had to wait a bit.

The ramen here has a chicken broth base for a lighter, more guilt-free ramen eating experience. I tried the shio and I like it much better than the shoyu! Their ramen are not heavy at all, and the chicken is soft and tender. I added nori to mine but I’m not sure it’s worth the added price.

I prefer to come here out of all the ramen spots in Austin. Despite being a small, cramped space, it has a lot of personality and the ramen is super satisfying without being too greasy or heavy.

  8. Happened to stumble upon this place on our visit to Austin and it was just what we were looking for! It’s a very small place, but we got a seat right away at the counter. This was a cool spot because we could watch the action in the kitchen. I got the Miso Ramen which was delicious, but a bit too savory for what I was looking for at the time. That’s ok, because since the portions are SO generous, I was able to take it home and had lunch for the next day! Would love to come back and try something else.

  9. God. This is hands down my favorite ramen spot in the Austin area. I never have any problems here. I sit, I eat. I’m a big fan of getting the veggie ramen but adding shredded chicken, and I’m positive every other ramen they offer is just as amazing. I’m not exaggerating how much better Daruma is and compares to others around. Just go. It’s small and communal seating but depending on the time you go, you won’t wait long or have to sit too close to anyone.

So seriously. Go now. Go today. Go tonight. Let the chefs of Daruma Ramen blow you away.
